It can be really challenging to define effective spiritual mentoring. Over the years, I’ve embraced the definition from early church theologian Augustine:
“If your mentoree has drawn closer to the heart of God, then you can say they have been mentored well.”
So, when I was asked to write about mentoring, I wrote this article to encourage all of us to not be intimidated but instead be willing to invest in the lives of younger believers by helping them draw near to God.
