I received a request to post the 8 things that people view incorrectly in 1 Samuel 16. They are:
- Samuel sees death in Bethlehem because he thinks Saul will kill him for anointing another king
- Townspeople see destruction when Samuel comes because they believe he is coming to prophecy destruction
- Townspeople see an animal sacrifice, not an anointing ceremony for the next king
- Samuel sees Eliab as the ideal candidate for king
- No one sees the real future king, David, because he’s tending sheep
- The reader of the text sees many people consecrated for God’s service but none are the future king
- Saul sees David as a young man playing his harp not the future king
- Everyone sees David as a servant at court and not the future king
We also had a request for the optical illusion, which you can try again below:
Blessings,
Jim
