He is Not Here

On the days leading up to Easter, I often think about to visits to the Garden Tomb, a lovely garden outside the city gates in Jerusalem with a first century tomb. It is likely not the actual location of Jesus’ tomb but a closer reality to how it would have appeared during the first century than the more likely historical site of Jesus’ burial place.

As you leave the garden tomb, there is a wooden sign reminding visitors that “He is not here; he has risen.” It’s a powerful reminder of Jesus’ resurrection.

A devotional I especially loved was included as the April feature for the 2021 Our Daily Bread Planner. I don’t believe it is online so included here is a picture of the devotional.

All is well,

Lisa
