“Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen” is a soulful Black spiritual song of lament and sorrow. It’s a modern day psalm that inspired this article that was included in a special reading plan commemorating Black History Month, which is recognized in the U.S. during February.
I love the insight of the historian who reflected on theme of spirituals, “there’s always the glory hallelujah someplace.” Whatever you are lamenting today, I hope you can find the “Glory Hallelujah” someplace.
All is well,
Lisa
