The beauty of art is that it can move us to consider even a familiar story in a new way. The painting, Let My People Go, uses imagery and color to connect the biblical story of Moses and Black Americans’ struggle for freedom and justice.
As our country recognizes the work of men and women to fight against the horrors of slavery and its aftermath on this national holiday, it is a good reminder that God sees those who are suffering and responds to their cries for help.
As you read today’s devotional, it’s also an invitation to consider if there is a way God is asking you to act on behalf of someone who is suffering injustice.
All is well,
Lisa
