About Us
It’s impossible to know anyone in just a few sentences, but this is our feeble attempt to tell you a little about us.
We are servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. Other than serving God in ministry, our greatest joy and privilege is loving our four kids, who make life so much fun. We currently live in an old house in Grand Rapids, Michigan that has a lot of character and even more books.
Jim serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Church where his main responsibility is to lead others in worship of God. In addition to published articles and book reviews, he is the author of several books.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Theology in New Testament and Pastoral Ministries from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament from the University of Oxford in England.
Lisa is an author and ministry leader. She is a regular contributor to Our Daily Bread, and her work has appeared in a variety of publications and online sites. She leads the Jerusalem Project, a ministry of Calvary Church which seeks to build the global church through partnerships, training, and church planting.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas and a Master of Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.
