A Word for Today – March 19

We filmed a daily video, which can be viewed here, with Paul’s encouragement from Philippians 4:11b-13:

for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

In the video, I mentioned the gratitude chalkboard our family created at the beginning of the year, as well as a quote from Henri Nouwen that has become even more relevant:

To be grateful for the good things that happen in our lives is easy, but to grateful for all of our lives – the good as well as the bad, the moments of joy as well as the moments of sorrow, the successes as well as the failures, the rewards as well as the rejections – that requires hard spiritual work.
