I was excited to visit Joshua Tree National Park while in California. Not being from the area, I anticipated a traditional forest but the park is actually a desert. Instead of leafy branches, the trees had straggly arms that more closely resembled cacti. However, I was intrigued by the legend that the trees were a meaningful reminder to early pioneers of God’s presence with them similar to his presence with Joshua in the midst of a battle.
Our hike inspired today’s devotional and I hope it might spur you to display reminders of God’s presence with you to encourage you when facing difficulty or suffering.
All is well,
Lisa
